The Indiana State Fair had a rain-soaked opening Friday as a thunderstorm moving across Indianapolis kept the gates closed for a couple hours in the morning.

The storm hit just after the opening ceremony for the three-week extravaganza wrapped up inside the new $50 million Fall Creek Pavilion that is hosting the 4-H swine exhibitions.
