Andy Sher

Andy Sher is a veteran Tennessee-based journalist who has reported on local, state and federal government as well as politics since the 1980s. Before joining State Affairs/Tennessee News Journal, Sher spent 18 years as Tennessee Capitol reporter for the Chattanooga Times Free Press , covering the Legislature and executive and judicial branches of state government. Sher also spent seven years as the Times Free Press’ Washington correspondent. His prior experience includes reporting on Tennessee government and politics for the then-Chattanooga Times and later The Nashville Banner. Sher is a former chair of the Tennessee Capitol Press Corps.
