Clifton Dowell

Clifton Dowell has worked in publishing his entire professional life, beginning as an editorial assistant at Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill while a student at the University of North Carolina, where he majored in English. He worked as a reporter at newspapers in Tennessee and North Carolina before settling in the interactive media division of McClatchy as an editor with NandoMedia. For the past two decades, Dowell has led McClatchy’s NC Insider State Government News Service in Raleigh.
