Right to Opt-Out: We do not “sell” Personal Data as traditionally understood. If and to the extent certain ad-tech activities are deemed a “sale,” we will comply with applicable law.
Authorized Agent: You may designate an agent to submit requests on your behalf; we may require written proof and direct identity verification.
Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Shine the Light: California residents may request a notice describing categories of personal information shared with third parties for direct marketing and the names/addresses of those third parties. Submit a written request to the address in “Contact Us.” We may require information to verify your identity. We are required to respond to one such request per calendar year.

We retain Personal Data about you for as long as you have an open account and generally for six (6) years after you terminate your account. In some cases we retain Personal Data longer if necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, collect fees owed, or as otherwise permitted or required by law. Afterwards, we retain some information in a depersonalized or aggregated form but not in a way that would identify you personally.
This Data Use Addendum (“Addendum”) supplements and, in the event of a conflict, controls over the State Affairs Privacy Policy with respect to the matters described herein.
“Personal Data” means information that directly identifies a specific individual, such as name, email address, mailing address, phone number, or government-issued identifier. Personal Data does not include: de-identified information, aggregated information, or pseudonymized information that cannot reasonably be used to identify a specific individual without the use of additional information kept separately.
State Affairs will not use Personal Data to profile or tailor content, offers, recommendations, or other aspects of the user experience to an identified individual. All personalization visible to an identified individual will be based on: general editorial or operational criteria; or data that has been de-identified, aggregated, or pseudonymized in accordance with Section 1.

This Addendum should be read together with the State Affairs Privacy Policy. In the event of a conflict, this Addendum governs the handling and use of Personal Data with respect to personalization, artificial intelligence usage, and automated decision-making.
We’re constantly working to improve our Services, so we may need to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will alert you to significant changes by placing a notice on the Services, by sending you an email, and/or by other reasonable means. If you use the Services after changes have been posted, that means you agree to the changes.
