Job Description:

Oversee the activities of the Energy Division and related programs. Submit the annual application with Department of Energy (DOE) State Energy Program grant. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the energy programs (not to include fiscal functions or fiscal reporting), including monitoring contractors, developing program guidelines, and coordinating with Utility Division staff to meet multiple grant requirements. Ensure all programs meet state and federal requirements. Ensure program compliance and timely filing of required reports. Provide fiscal staff with program information that may be necessary to complete fiscal functions and reporting. Supervise energy program staff and contractors and provide support to other KCC Divisions as necessary on various federal grants. The person in this position must be able to function in a non-partisan, energy source neutral fashion and promote the energy programs across multiple energy source spectrums. Additionally, the person in this position must be able to present unbiased information about various energy sources, available energy resources and energy conservation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business from an accredited college or university.
  • Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills in public and private settings with diverse audiences. Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with a diverse population, and ability to relate well with Commission Staff, government officials, and external audiences.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects, tight deadlines and effectively set priorities.
  • Must be able to work in a non-partisan, unbiased and energy source neutral environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or Law degree preferred
