Attend, monitor, and report on legislative committee meetings relevant to DCF policy areas throughout the Legislative Session. Track applicable legislation and amendments offered by policy makers and stakeholders. Work with Public and Governmental Affairs on preparation and submission of legislative committee testimony. Assist in preparation and distribution of information to legislators and stakeholders

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

H.S. diploma or equivalent and at least two years of college courses in political science, law or pre-law, public affairs or communications

Security Clearance: A background check (KBI – criminal background, welfare fraud, driver’s license and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment, which may include finger printing and FBI check. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment with DCF. Must maintain security clearance throughout employment.
