A new ad from the gubernatorial campaign of Attorney General Josh Stein features Hall of Fame UNC Tar Heel basketball coach Roy Williams, who endorses Josh Stein and says the Democrat would be a governor who “fights to make our public schools the best in the country.”
The ad launched over the weekend, during the UNC Chapel Hill vs. Duke football game, according to a news release.
TRANSCRIPT
WILLIAMS: Every day I was coaching, the basketball court was my classroom.
WILLIAMS: I wanted to do for my players what my teachers had done for me.
WILLIAMS: Josh Stein will be a governor who fights to make our public schools the best in the country, raising teacher pay so we can recruit the best and brightest and expanding vocational programs that teach job skills.
WILLIAMS: Josh Stein wants every child to get a fair shot.
WILLIAMS: He’ll be a great Governor.
